The Impact of History and Emerging Issues on Recent Changes to the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists: An Interactive Workshop
Objectives
- Participants will become familiar with the history of the underlying philosophy of the Canadian Code, and the place of the Code in the history of psychological ethics.
- Emerging issues and their impact on the most recent revisions to the Code will be addressed, including: changes in thinking about ethical decision making; globalization and cultural diversity; increased uses of technology; third-party involvement; and collaborative/multidisciplinary care.
- Through the use of vignettes and group exercises, participants will have the opportunity to practice and develop their ethical decision-making skills.
