Workshop Description:

Many individuals have heard of reconsolidation theory. Some have heard that reconsolidation impairment with propranolol can be used to treat mental disorders that have at their core an emotional memory, such as Posttraumatic stress disorder. Few, however, truly understand how reconsolidation therapy can be easily learned and used by psychologists and MDs to help patients. This intermediate workshop will present the empirical work supporting the use of reconsolidation therapy in clinical practice and give a glimpse of how it can be used to enhance clinical practice.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand reconsolidation theory
  2. Be knowledgeable of the empirical studies that support the use of reconsolidation as a treatment
  3. Get a sense of how reconsolidation therapy is conducted
